On Wednesday, October 19th the residents of our beautiful Magnolia by the Lakes Independent and Assisted Senior Resort
celebrated our October theme dinner party with the classic movie “The Wizard of Oz” by having delicious Kansas cuisine,
fantasy decorations, music and a real live Dorothy! Drinks were flowing throughout the evening featuring emerald lemonade,
beer and wine. The delectable dinner menu consisted of traditional salad, rustic dinner rolls, Kansas Style BBQ ribs, chicken
kale sausage, filet steak bites, candied sweet potato casserole, creamed corn and Kansas style baked beans. Delicious dirt cake
and coconut cream pie were served for dessert. With the scarecrow, tin man, Dorothy and a yellow brick road, one would think
they were in Emerald City! Many thanks to Chef James, Chef Eric and the dining staff for the most sumptuous beef dishes
prepared so expertly. Thank you, Deb, the Activity Director, for the superb decorations. Thank you, Magnolia staff, for hosting
the party. Come visit Magnolia by the Lakes. You will be amazed.
