Employee Spotlight

Say Hello to Shelly Ann, our Associate Marketing Director here at Magnolia by the Lakes Senior Resorts. Shelly Ann has worked at Magnolia for 6 years and has even won Employee of the year back in 2019. She continues to go above and beyond for Magnolia and for our residents.

Shelly Ann is a proud mother of 1 son and 2 daughters, and a proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren. Before working at Magnolia she spent many years in the hospitality industry managing restaurants. She also worked as a lunch lady and loved working with the children.

Shelly Ann loves her job at Magnolia because she gets to know each and every one of our residents in an intimate way. She loves giving tours and showcasing the beauty of Magnolia. Her favorite space within Magnolia is the Scarlet Lobby. She loves the cozy, elegant feel bought on by the 300 year old fireplace, the beautiful winding staircase, and the magnificent chandelier.

Shelly Ann also enjoys working closely with Dr. Bagne and sais that she has learned so much from her over the years. Shelly Ann is a wonderful Asset to Magnolia and we are so grateful for her hard work and
her charisma!

Rosemarie is one of our beloved residents here at Magnolia by the Lakes Senior Resorts. She is 95 years old and has a truly heartwarming story. Rosemarie has always had a deep affection for children. She raised 3 wonderful children of her own and welcomed all neighborhood children to her home and into her arms. Rosemarie always made sure that there was plenty of good food in the refrigerator and an ample supply of pens and paper for drawing and creativity.

That is not all that Rosemarie provided for the children. She inspired and taught the children to chase their dreams and never to give up. Her mantra was: “give children roots to grow and wings to soar.”

Another fascinating characteristic of Rosemarie is her uncompromising problem-solving ability. No problem is too big for Rosemarie to solve. She thinks outside the box and strikes the problem from every angle. For example, when a child would come to her in need of a costume for the school play, the very next day, a blue bird costume would miraculously appear. She even told me a story about getting a large freezer stuck in a stairwell and having to climb on top of it and saw it in half.

Rosemarie is currently facing some more severe challenges. She started loosing her hearing when she was in her 50’s and by the time she was 70 she couldn’t hear at all. She has been without her hearing for over 20 years, but Rosemarie does not allow her hearing loss to stop her from being one of the most enjoyable people around.

Rosemarie enjoys chatting with her friends and family through voice-to-text and if you don’t prefer to use your phone, you can always write in her notebook, and she will read it and respond immediately. Conversations with Rosemarie always leave you with a smile on your face and love in your heart.

Thank you, Rosemarie, for being a member of our Magnolia family. You are loved and admired by everyone at our Magnolia Senior Resort!
